To get a digital perm you're best off going to a Korean or Japanese hair salon, since the technology originated in that part of the world, and given the sheer number of unhappy straight-fine-haired Asian ladies out there, East Asian hair stylists have by now perfected the digital perming technique to a fine art. North America/Europe has been slow to jump on the digital perm band wagon but its popularity is quickly spreading. I don't know about you, but I'd much rather trust someone who has been working with this new procedure for years as opposed to someone who has only just found their way around a heated roller. To find a salon near you, just type in "Korean Hair Salon" or "Japanese Hair Salon" and your city name into Google Maps and you're on your way.
Go to a "Korean or Japanese hair salon, since the technology originated in that part of the world"? Are you serious??? These perms have been around for over 100 years. http://www.xtimeline.com/__UserPic_Large/7508/ELT200805250733339055355.BMP
ReplyDeleteThe ONLY thing new about these perms is the name. There is nothing "digital" about these perms. The ONLY reason people used to get these perms is because thioglycholic acid was not invented yet. Once thio perms became popular people quite doing electric perms. There was a very short period in the 70's when people did "UniPerms", but they were only around for about 4 years. Digital perms... my butt!
Look familiar?

I just got a digital perm two days ago from a Japanese salon. I took a picture of what i wanted and showed it to her. She said "yes thats how it will look". When she took the perm rods out it i had smallish tight curls that didnt curl very well. I asked her why it looked like that. She to wait two days and when i wash it the curls would relax into the waves in the picture. i waited two days and washed it and it is as straight as it was when i fist went into the salon. the only way you can even tell i had a perm is by the stench that my hair still has in it.

ReplyDeleteI went to korean salon in Dubai. Funny enough, I washed my hair after 2 days and it was straight like before. Only it was more frizzy and damaged. I don't believe in korean/Japanese shit. Go to any salon who know what they are doing.
